Honest update
In the last few weeks, I have learned something again that sounds totally banal at first glance – and yet is almost always implemented incorrectly:
More email campaigns mean more sales.
Sounds simple, right?
The problem:
This doesn't work for most shops.
Why?
Because they simply start using their entire list more often – without a plan and without segmentation.
This does not lead to more sales, but rather to annoyed subscribers and rising unsubscribe rates.
The difference lies in one detail:
More is only more if you segment specifically.
I increased the shipping frequency for one of my customers:
Instead of 2 emails per week, we sent 5 emails.
But: not to everyone.
• Existing customers received content that strengthened their loyalty:
Background information, behind-the-scenes, insights into upcoming launches.
• New customers received targeted sales offers to encourage them to buy again quickly.
The result:
• Sales have increased significantly
• The unsubscribe rate has decreased (!)
Sales of the 5 campaigns from last week, especially special sales worked extremely well with new customers
The reason is simple:
Each group received content that fits their current customer journey.
By the way, this works not only for campaigns, but also for flows.
Many shops have flows with 2-3 emails and are therefore missing out on potential.
If you expand these with relevant, segmented emails, it almost always brings in more sales – without causing more people to unsubscribe.
A common counterargument from e-commerce businesses with Shopify stores is:
“I don’t have time to create that many emails.”
I understand.
And that's exactly why I created my Advanced course back then.
It includes my complete email template bundle—with which you can have texts written in minutes and implement designs immediately.
In addition, the course provides you with concrete templates showing which target group should receive which emails.
This way, you can send more frequently – without spending endless time on each individual email.
My tip:
Look at your segments.
Consider what content each group really wants to see.
And start sending more targeted emails per week – to the right people.
